Hey y’all, Xander here. Thanks for visiting my site. Since you’re here, I might as well tell you a little about me, and how I made the decision to get into this crazy world we call Hip-Hop.

So, I started rapping in my room, as I spent a lot of time by myself, at around age 15; just recording myself with garbage equipment over Youtube beats on my giant computer. This was like, 2001. The earliest memory I have rapping in front of people though was actually in class at Princeton Junior High School. I believe it was Social Studies, and I made and performed a rap about one of our subjects over Yin Yang Twins’ “Whistle While You Twerk” instrumental.

At this point you’re probably wondering how a white Jewish kid from the suburbs of Cincinnati who was classically trained in violin got into wanting to be a rapper. Welp, I guess my interest in it started when I heard my first full length rap album at a relative’s house. That album was “Est 1999” by Bone Thugs N’ Harmony, the OG Ohio premier rap group. I was in second or third grade.

My parents have always been super creative, valuing poetry and literature. They were both journalists and were respectively curators, editors, authors etc. Basically, they always supported the creative ventures of my brother and me. Rapping definitely started as a joke for me; by high school I was on the morning announcements tearing down the setup and swimming on the table Tom Green style while spitting a ‘Rainforest Rap’ for a rainforest charity.

Around when I turned 17 though, I changed my tune and got serious about wanting to make creative rap music. It was at this time I met my best friend, and we began making tracks in his basement. We cranked out a bunch of tracks, formed a group, made some videos, and even did some shows around the city.

By 2013, I really wanted to try and make something notable out of my creative ventures. By that time I had the stage name of “Peer Presha”, a really bad, cheesy name in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of people supported me during that time, and I appreciate that. A lot of those people still support me to this day. Under that name, I made a decent amount of work between then and recently, but at the end of the day, it just wasn’t me. The way I look at it now, that part of my life was a learning experience that was necessary for me to figure out what I really want to do with this music stuff. I learned how to properly record, get my stuff professionally mixed and mastered, and so much more.

Now that you’re caught up, this is the real me. My real name- Xander Katz. Pure Hip-Hop music, crafting songs from scratch while working hands on with extremely talented local producers. Real songwriting with subject matter about the events that have happened in my life. You won’t hear music like this anywhere else- it’s never been done before. Because no one has ever told my story, and no one else can.
